Cleaning Out My Stash…One Skein At A Time

I decided to get out of my stash the yarn I got in 2024 at Yarn Con. I got this fantastic Hood pattern when I bought the yarn that went with it. Its from Muse 2320 Fiber Co.
They have wonderful colors and I couldn’t resist at the time surrounded by so much fibery goodness :)!!! Love Yarn Con, but you have to go to be prepared, and prepared to be overwhelmed. It’s so much fun.
Anyway, I got the kit and the pattern and they sat in my stash for over a year while I worked on many, many UFO’s, and a few things that I did manage to finish. Am I the only one who finds finishing a project seems so angsty, and by that I mean, it starts to seem like a chore. I push myself to finish something, but with the image of my next one, or two, or three future projects in my mind. Sigh.
I was cleaning out my stash of the loads of stash yarn that was never going to be made into anything, when I came across this beauty. It is made from slub/nylon and alpaca/silk. You must knit the two together and the end results turns out to be a warm and fuzzy hood. Imagine a balaclava, but it doesn’t cover your whole face, just your neck and head. So cool.
I have two colorways that I got, a red, and a pink. As much as I love pink, I couldn’t resist the red, and it is knitting up soooo nicely. As with any project, starting the chain/cast on row is the hardest. The fiddly parts of knitting two different fibers together, along with tension and sweat, it happens! Sweat Happens!!!
I’m about an inch in now and have about 19 rows to go before I switch from the round and go flat. I hate stockingnet stitch, but it is useful. Its not like I mind purling really, but it is slower than the knit stitch.

I’m going to continue to do quick, small projects as I work on the colorwork for the Eternity Shawl I’m a part of with Anne’s Norwegian Knitting 2025. I’ll put out videos and pictures as I go. Both this project and as I work on the Eternity Shawl. #knitting #annesnorwegianknitting #eternityshawl #purling #fiberfun #crafting

I’m using my stash yarn to make a cowl for this winter. I love the colors and how they complement eachother.
Current Knitting Projects: The Eternity Shawl Journey

I signed up for Anne's norwegian knitting 2025 Eternity Shawl, I guess you could call it a KAL, but I'm going at my own pace. I needed a new knitting project to replace other projects I'd finished.
I had just finished a lace shawl that I had started a few years back and wanted to start another knitting project that would be a fun and relaxing over time. I like knitting hats, scarves, and many, many lace pieces for a quick knit, but I like to have something on the needles that I can just take my time with and enjoy. Its all about the process for me.
Through Anne's website I ordered the yarn for the project through the Yarnery. The store was full of fiber magic! All you could want from a store and easy to use as well.
I managed to grab the caribean colorway and the needles to match, because you never want to start a project and not have the right needle size. So frustrating. Or you do, but its in one of the forementioned UFO's and you don't know where that is at the moment :).
I've gotten the first part of the knitting project on the needles and have successfully knit it in the round without twisting it. Had to lay it out straight at first to make sure I didn't do that.
So now I'm off to start the colorwork! Wish me well. I will keep this updated as I go.
